DIARY OF A MAD SEA MONKEY LADY
Monday, February 16th, 2004 5:49 pm
I wanted to start by thanking everyone for their patience over the last few months.
I've been sick. Really sick. Flu type sick where all you want to do is lie in bed with a cup
of Lipton's Chicken Noodle Soup (the one with the tiny noodles) and read, watch tv, or
play video games. You think I'd be accustomed to this by now, given that I've been off work
for quite some time due to this darned thing, but I'm not. Each time I get sick it hits me like
a bolt from the blue and leaves me drained of energy for quite some time. The e-mail and the site are
the first things to go when I'm down...then going out...then visits with friends...then leaving the
house at all. I'm at the "leaving the house at all" stage right now, and it's a lot of work to
get my body moving to do something as simple as doing some grocery shopping or visiting the yarn store
for more yarn. (To the yarn store for yarn, you say? Can you imagine that???)
If you've ever been sick for a long period of time, you will understand. If you haven't, then perhaps you won't.
I'm posting this purely as an explanation as to why the site hasn't been updated in a while and why I
am not answering e-mails as quickly as I should. The answer is simple -- I can't. I can't think well enough
to answer even the simplest questions and I can't sit up long enough to do more than one or two at a time.
So when you write to me, angry and annoyed, please remember that it's not just because I'm ignoring you...
I'm pretty much ignoring the world right now in a vain attempt to feel better. And I will. Soon, I hope. But if
I don't, then that's okay too. There's nothing I can do about getting better, so I just have to deal with
not being well. It sucks...that's a simple fact...but things will be better one day. So here's waiting for
Thanks for your understanding.
